A quick glimpse of the inside of Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom last night provided quite the spectacle for the curious onlooker; hung from side to side and front and back was the art of Alex Grey. Engulfed in bright colorful light stood none other than the legend himself painting a sample in his obscure psychedelic style on canvas, a front the main stage. The Unified Filed, aka the Sonic Bloom pre-party brought Alex Grey and Wife Allison Grey to Denver for a night of fine art and heavy beats, with such artists as Octopus Nebula and Antennae supporting the couple as they painted into the night. Although the pre-party raged late into after hours, the crowd was lively and seemed to be under their psychedelic spell while tantalized by the rhythm of the music and skill of the paint brush. Later this summer The Sonic Bloom festival will offer an array of even more experience outside Georgetown in the beautiful rocky mountains June 24th-26th . Eoto will be the main headliner as supported by the others mentioned in the flier to the right, and with campgrounds with fire pits and fresh water you can bet this as sick of a location as you are going to find of any festival on American soil this festival season. Tonight is the second night of the pre-party and is set for much more music and a second appearance of Alex Grey and wife Allison. According to their website Big Bang is a 2 day music fest at the Denver Coliseum that will bring over 60 acts to for a weekend of ill beats and madness. It's confirmed that some of the local Denver and Fort Collins House of Dub DJs will be playing at the event. The House of Dub is an excellent crew of eight extended members that have been tearing up shows all across the front range, and even playing at the world renowned Beta in Denver.  Excision, Mt. Eden and AL-P of MSTRKRFT are some of the notable headliners, but there are many many more so check out there site for the low down. Big Bang is set for Friday May 6th and Saturday May 7th and is sure to impress. 

Zeds Dead has played Colorado several times in recent months at the Snowball Music Festival in Avon, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom  and The Ogden Theatre in; if you haven't made it to any of their shows you've been missing out on some of the hottest acts on electronic scene. What separates the Canadian duo from other similar acts like is their skills in mixing seductive vocal tracks over gnarly bass for excellent harmonies. They have been actively touring internationally now for well over a year, and are most definitely worth keeping your eyes on. Although according to their myspace tour dates they have no immediate date set to return to Colorado but you can bet your ass they will be back in state again in the near future. This track is a remix of the American rock artist Jason Falkner's "Only You"; it has been catching a lot of hits online, for obvious reasons.
